Embark on a unique adventure from Geraldton Airport to witness the mesmerising Pink Lake at Hutt Lagoon near Port Gregory and Kalbarri National Park.
Fly over the North Geraldton coast, marvelling at the vibrant colours of Australia’s Coral Coast’s sands and waters. As you approach the southern end of Hutt Lagoon, the pink hue, caused by carotenoid-producing algae Dunaliella salina, comes into view. This algae is not only a source of the lake’s unique colour but also a rich source of ß-carotene and vitamin A.
Covering approximately 70 square kilometres, the majority of Pink Lake lies just metres below sea level, fed by marine waters through springs.
After circling the lake, continue along the coastal cliffs towards the rugged Kalbarri National Park. Witness the stunning Murchison River gorges, where the river has carved through sandstone, displaying breathtaking red, white, and purple rock colours. Admire landmarks like Hawkeshead, Little Z Bend, Big Z Bend, Four Ways Formation, and more before returning to land at Geraldton Airport.
